This was a really fun maternity session and I can’t wait to meet their baby boy in the next months. The beautiful mom-to-be had so many great ideas and was so patient while we tried many different ‘looks’ during this session. Dad-to-be was also a great sport, helping to move and hold things while we worked…thanks! We started the shoot in their living room, involving their first babies, the puppies! I always enjoy that because having two dogs of my own, I understand how pets are part of the family and it’s important to get them involved in the portraits. Little do they know what’s to come! After the living room ‘family’ shots, we used the master bedroom for more intimate portraits of mom and her growing baby bump.
For a Belly ‘n Babe Maternity and Newborn session the maternity portraits take place late in the 7th month or early part of the 8th month of pregnancy. Any later, and moms tend to start to feel more uncomfortable and less willing to be in front of the camera. Then the newborn session happens within the first 10 days following the baby’s birth in the family’s home. Be on the lookout in the next weeks for the images of their baby’s newborn session!
