I captured these shots from my balcony in Hawaii with a slower shutter speed to show the motion of the water. Every day we looked out onto this amazing scene and were in awe of the power of the ocean. We were only reminded of this more when we learned of the potential tsunami. The night before the earthquake, these waves were crashing so fiercely, the ocean spray was reaching our third floor lanai. That alone was frightening.
and heading to Hawaii! I can’t believe that on Friday we’ll be heading to sunny and warm Kona, HI. What an amazing break from winter in Chicago and all the SNOW we’ve been having. Here’s one of my favorite photos of Carter this winter. It was his first time in the snow. He wasn’t sure what to make of the experience. Now he’ll actually pick up a snowball and say “hot”. To him, every temperature change is “hot”. He’ll hopefully be able to say that a lot while on the beach!
